Gro Residential Management adds experienced business development manager to York office and targets further growth

Gro Residential Management has recruited a property and business development manager with ‘great knowledge of the local market’ as it continues to expand its work supporting landlords and tenants in York.
Sam Claridge brings experience of the many ‘niche’ aspects of the residential lettings market in the historic city.
He previously held roles at Linley and Simpson and Carter Jonas, and had a spell with a dedicated block management company where he ran more than 20 sites to ensure properties were well-managed for both leaseholders and tenants.
He joins the Gro Residential team who opened a new office in York earlier this year, and are building on the success of its long-established Hull business, which has a reputation in the market for providing industry-leading advice and support to landlords and tenants.
Providing a personal service
Mr Claridge says he is excited to be joining Gro Residential Management at a time of growth, and feels his experience can help the business repeat the success it has enjoyed in East Yorkshire, in the north of the county.
“I’m delighted to be joining Gro Residential at a very exciting time for the business following its recent expansion into York. It has an excellent reputation and one which is becoming more prevalent in the city and surrounding areas, certainly since opening a dedicated office in the city,” he said.
“I think it’s really important to be based locally, especially in a city like York, where there are many niche properties and lots of listed buildings and conservation issues to consider.
“It’s really important to have that detailed understanding and knowledge of how that can impact on landlords to be in the best position to advise them effectively, and I think added to this, it’s important to build a good working relationship with those who turn to you for advice.
“I’ve always prided myself on offering a very personal approach to my clients, as that allows you to develop that relationship and provide a better service long term. I know that is how Gro Residential works, and how it has made a success of its business in Hull.
“Having lived and worked in York a number of years now, I’ve also developed an excellent network of trusted associates and clients who I know work to the highest standards.
Mr Claridge says York remains an extremely attractive location for people looking to invest in residential properties to rent out to tenants, with the market buoyant at present.
“York is a lovely city, and a highly-desirable place to work and live, which of course impacts positively on rental rates,” he said.
Experienced experts in specialist roles
Helen Everritt, Manager of Gro Residential, said “We’re delighted to have added Sam to our team as he has great knowledge of the local market in and around York, covering everything from planning regulations and local restrictions to lettings valuations, negotiations and management.
“He also brings knowledge of the intricacies of Block Management relationships between the owners of the developments, landlords and tenants, which is something we deal with regularly as we work closely with our sister business Pure Block Management on various properties.
Gro Residential Management is one of four specialist property businesses within the Garness Group, sitting alongside long-established commercial property specialist Garness Jones, Pure Block Management, and Barry Crux & Company.
